‘Animal Train’ is a network of Artists and musicians who create percussive musical structures (pictured right) out of recycled industrial plastics and use these structures as a basis for workshops at festivals, fayres and fundays.

The workshops operate on a ‘freeform’ basis: Any number of children and adults can ‘drop in‘ and join in  - as many times as they want, for as long as they want, throughout the day and take part in the ongoing rhythm creation. The sculptures feature drums, gongs, horns, bat-phones and lots of things to hit and use for making rhythms.

We also offer ‘making musical instruments from recycled materials’ workshops that can run alongside our percussive structure workshops and may often culminate in a parade, involving Samba drumming.
